hill view guest house | Fort William

Until I stayed in this guest house, I never knew a B&B could be so uniquely homely and comforting. I knew as soon as I saw the first photo online that I was booking this one: the white picket fence, the well maintained gardens, the amazing views of Loch Linnhe and not to mention the immaculate condition of the rooms!

As I mentioned above, as soon as I saw this B&B online I wanted to book it. If you've never been to Fort William before, the road in is essentially a road of B&B's, most mundane looking and worn down, but this guest house is a breath of fresh air! The guest house itself is a lovely building; painted white with well-kept gardens, and not too far from the town centre of Fort William which makes it an ideal base for exploring the highlands.

To say we booked on the day and arrived hours earlier than we said we would, Joe was nothing but smiles as he said we could leave our bags there until the room was ready, whilst we went to explore

Loch Ness.

I've truly never seen such a well decorated and pristine room before. The decor was held to such a high standard: lovely (and matching!) furniture, super comfortable beds and all in all very modern and stylish! I can't imagine how many hours must be put into the cleaning because there wasn't a single spec of dust or dirt to be seen.

Small, but definitely roomy enough with a big window to take in the most of the stunning views of Loch Linnhe, and a huge en-suite for a guest house! There were a few little touches that really added brownie points to this guest house, such as the clean flannels and shower gel, and not to mention the guidebooks to the area that mentioned everything and anything you could possibly want to do! We're already planning our next trip!

The great thing about the guest house is that there are several communal areas in which to spend time in, and each room is so well presented that you don't feel as though you're in a guest house; you feel as though you're at home.

Jane and Joe are by far some of the loveliest owners and people we've met on our travels! Whilst most owners are content for you to hand your key in, hand the money over and shuffle you on your way, Jane and Joe go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable and accommodating as possible.

Not only are the pair super friendly, but it was also nice that when we were checking out we were able to simply chat about past experiences around the world and laugh and joke, and the two seemed to really appreciate our positive feedback!

Also, thanks to their recommendation to visit the little town of Luss on our way home, we got some amazing photos of Loch Lomond and bought a fair few souvenirs!

There was a huge range of breakfast items to choose from in the morning, from cereals to yogurts and chocolate filled croissants to cooked breakfast. Toast was provided almost instantly, and we were given a huge pot of tea whilst we waiting for our cooked breakfasts.

Not only was it amazing to be able to sit and drink tea to this view, but the patterned crockery made a nice change from the usual plain white you usually find!

This guest house is by far one of the best we've ever stayed in: the cleanliness, the views and the friendliness of Jane and Joe truly made this guest house worth every bit of the money we paid and we'll definitely be going back!
