Rycal Cave & Water | The Lake District
This was the first part of a trip that I'd had planned with two friends from work for over a week, and was only my second time in the lakes. I was literally in awe driving through the mountains and hills of the Lake District.
We all had so many places we wanted to go and so many pins on Google Maps, but we decided to stick around the Ambleside area and first up was Rydal Cave and Rydal Water. It seemed pretty easy to get to, but then again I wasn't driving!
We parked up in a little car park by the main road and set off on the marked trail. It's a really stunning area, and thanks to the absolute torrential downpour from the night before and most of the morning, the rivers and waters were full.
It's all really well sign-posted, and the path brings you in a stunning little loop around the caves and down by the water before you're back at the starting point.
It's a pretty busy area and the cave was chocker with people, but if you have the patience to wait out the crowds then you can get some pretty good photos.
