why Luang Prabang is my favourite town in all of Asia (so far)
Updated: Aug 18, 2020
I had no real plans or expectations of Laos. I simply knew it was meant to have some pretty scenery across the country and figured I'd tick it off the list while I was in the general area. Let me just say Laos absolutely needs to be on your list for so many reasons, and the town of Luang Prabang is one of them. If you want to see the beauty check out my gallery of the city!
As seems to be the trend in Laos, Luang Prabang (LP) is known as being quite the party town and as someone who doesn't party often I didn't expect to like this town, but LP is SO much more than a party.
With French-Laotian architecture this town is a little gem with bundles of charm and personality. There's antique stores, bookstores, quirky cafe's, and endless activities from waterfalls to rafting and canoeing.
Just walking around this town was one of my favourite things to do. If you keep your eyes open to the alleyways and small hidden nooks there are some incredibly pretty places to take pictures and hang out.
There are two rivers that snake around Luang Prabang and they're both stunning to look at. Spend a morning and/or evening just walking along the riverfront, grab a drink or two, and just chill with a view.
I can't quite put into words how charming and cute I found this town - definitely something you need to see and appreciate for yourself!
I could wax lyrical about this city/town for days but I figure a picture is worth a thousand words, and since I took around a thousand photos, you can check them out in the gallery section.
